Allie Harper is the author of the “Nancy Drew meets Karin Slaughter” mysteries, The Kylie Bell Chronicles, a series that combines the gritty New York crime scene with a strong female lead and themes of mental health, relationships, and standing up for oneself as a woman.
As a person living with bipolar disorder, Allie uses her lived experiences with psychosis, hospitalizations, and
electroconvulsive therapy to curate flawed, lifelike characters that readers can dig their teeth into.
Bringing forth feminist themes, her work produces strong female characters who aren’t afraid to stand up for themselves in a man’s world while still focusing on the main plot: serial killers plaguing Manhattan.
