Allie Harper is the author of the “Nancy Drew meets Karin Slaughter” mystery series, The Kylie Bell Chronicles, a series that combines the gritty New York crime scene with the themes of mental health, relationships, and standing up for oneself as a woman.
As a person living with bipolar disorder, Allie uses her lived experiences with psychosis, hospitalizations, and
electroconvulsive therapy to curate flawed, lifelike characters that readers can dig their teeth into.
Bringing forth feminist themes, her work produces strong female characters who aren’t afraid to stand up for themselves in a man’s world while still focusing on the main plot: serial killers plaguing Manhattan.
Currently living in New York with her husband and their dog, Seymour, Allie loves exploring museums, finding first editions in indie bookstores, and attending Broadway shows. With her B.A. in English and Creative Writing, she is a member of the National English Honor Society, an enthusiastic linguist, and lives to explain Latin roots in modern English.
